Guest of Honour Her Imperial Highness Princess Lissie Selassie of Ethiopia Her Imperial Highness Princess Lissie Selassie of Ethiopia is a great-great-granddaughter of Emperor Haile Selassie I, the last reigning Emperor of Ethiopia and one of the most internationally recognised figures of twentieth-century African history. She descends from the historic Ethiopian Imperial House of Solomon, a dynasty whose traditions trace their lineage through the ancient Ethiopian monarchy and the legendary line of King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba. Princess Lissie made her debut at Le Bal des Débutantes in Paris, alongside Countess Cosima Henckel von Donnersmarck and other young members of European royal and aristocratic families. She later attended the Tulips Ball in the Netherlands in 2025 as an honoured guest. A graduate of UC Santa Cruz, where she studied Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology, Princess Lissie combines science with a passion for culture. As Président d’Honneur of the Black Tulip Society Los Angeles, she now seeks to bring the tradition of European society balls to Los Angeles.
